Toy stall on Apliu Street, Kowloon

While Apliu Street might be "Toys for Big Boys" there are actually real toys for children as well on sale. Several stalls such as this one stock a range of toys, mostly simple and low cost, but a few higher end items including remote control items which cross over between "big boy" and "small boys"!

Directly sourcing their items from wholesalers and manufacturers in nearby parts of China these toy vendors, though small, are able to offer interesting options that go beyond the normal fare found in big name toy shop chains in Hong Kong.

Small toy vendors carry small stocks and so turn over to the latest items rapidly, so you may see toys following newest trends in the Apliu Street before they arrive in the big malls or high streets.

From Velcro dartboards to mini basket ball hoops, from wind up toy airplanes through puzzle books to kids toy computers. Stalls like this are fun to browse through whether you are choosing a gift for a child travelling with you, or selecting something to take back to give to your kids at home.

Flea market and Piece Goods

The Electronics Flea Market and the Piece goods shops are the most famous parts of Aplui Street, but this important street has a long history and even now is home to a vibrant community.

Look out for the photography equipment shops, and spend some time in the public sitting out areas.

Finally don't miss all the nearby attractions.
